Interface and overview

The interface of the Chilly Homepage Designers

The interface consits of two main parts: your website and the main menu. A website consists of a series of elements or modules.
Each module can be edited separately. You will learn the basics of editing website modules. The process is similar for all modules. When you add a module to a page, you can select whether the module should be displayed only on the current page (page-specific module) or on all pages (website module).

Exceptions are the modules search, advertising, website logo, navigation and breadcrumbs:
When you add them, they are placed on all pages of your website. To place a module on the current page, select the module in the modules tab and drag it to one of the designated  "Page specific" areas.  These areas are located in the main content block and on top of the sidebars. To place a module on all pages , select the module in the m odules tab and drag it to one of the areas marked with the text " website wide".   These areas are located above and below the main content block , sidebars , header and footer. To display or edit a module, move the pointer over the part of the site that you want to change. The module is framed by a dashed line. A control menu with options to move, edit or remove the module will be displayed next to the dashed line. The dashed line around page-specific modules is green and blue around site-wide modules.

In the main menu of the editor the 5 options for website editing are grouped in 5 tabs:
    • Module - Allows you to select modules and drag them onto a page in order to fill it with content.
    • Design - You can choose the layout and the overall color scheme of your website, change colors of different items and select the font and border styles.
