How to place the blog module on your homepage

If you want to keep an online diary on your site or regularly publish articles about a topic and present them in chronological order, you need a blog. A blog module can only be added to pages of the first level, which have no subpages. In blog posts, you can use text, images, embedded videos and scripts. Each blog post can have a unique page description and meta information which can be used by search engines.
Note that blog posts are not listed on the tab.
To ensure that your visitors can leave comments on your blog posts, you must register with Disqus, a free third-party service, that provides comment functions for your pages and stores all comments.

How to add a blog to your website:
  1. Go to the Modules tab, select Blog and drag the module to the page.
  2. The following options are available in the module settings:
    • Number of displayed blog posts on the page.
    • Show whether visitors can leave comments.
  3. Click OK.
  4. To activate the comment function, click on the link Click here to add a new blog entry.
  5. Click in the gray information box at the bottom of the empty blog post.
  6. In order to register with Disqus, click on the Register button. A new browser window or a new browser tab with a registration form will open.
  7. Specify the following:
    • The URL of your website, the desired name and the short name (unique ID). You must specify this website ID (short name) later in the settings of the blog module to enable the comment function.
    • Username, password and email address of the comment moderator. Make sure that the specified email address is valid because a confirmation message will be sent to this address.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Enter your language and other preferences, and then click Continue.
  10. In the last step of the registration form, no further actions are required. Simply log off the Disqus site.
  11. Check if the acknowledgement message has been sent to your inbox by Disqus. Click on the link in the message to confirm your address.
  12. Go back to the browser window where you opened the Chilly Homepage Designer with the properties of the blog module.
  13. Enter your site ID (short name) that you received when you registered and the site ID that you specified during the registration with Disqus in step 7.
  14. Click Apply.
  15. Click OK.

Visitors can now leave comments on your blog, and you can create the first post.
