| United Kingdom and Gibraltar European Union membership referendum (BREXIT) information: | With the entry into force of Brexit, individuals and companies from the UK and Gibraltar will no longer be able to own a .eu domain. From the date of departure it is no longer possible for them to register new domains and to transfer or renew existing domains. The exit date in the case of a hard Brexit is already at the end of March 2019. In the case of an orderly Brexit, this is the end of 2020. During a period of two months from the date of departure, they will be able to announce a new address in one of the remaining 27 EU member states in order to keep the domain name. If no new address is announced, domains will be blocked and deleted by the registry EURid. As of January 2019. The VAT rate for consumer customers in the EU depends on the buyer's country.
