.music domain renewal

.music domains will be renewed automatically, if there is enough money in the account. You will be informed by email 90, 60, 30 and 14 days before the current registration period ends. In this email you will also be informed about the currently available credit balance and, if this is not sufficient for the renewal, about the required remaining amount. You can change the email address to which the notification is sent in the Customer Zone.


.music domain termination

If you no longer wish to renew a domain, you can terminate it in the Customer Zone.


What happens if I do not respond to the renewal notification for my .music domain?

If there is not enough credit available, your .music domain cannot be renewed automatically. In this case, the .music domain will be suspended as soon as the registration period expires. From this point on it is no longer accessible and cannot be used for websites, emails, etc. It is still possible to renew a suspended .music domain. 30 days after the expiration of the registration period, you can renew your domain by paying the renewal fee and the recovery costs (undelete).


When will my .music domain be deleted?

If the suspension period ends after the .music domain has already expired, the domain will be deleted. However, it is still possible to restore deleted .music domains. For the first 30 days after deletion, a restore fee will be charged in addition to the renewal fee.

.music registration process:

a) After a standard domain registration is successfully submitted to the Registry all .MUSIC domains automatically become ServerHOLD status (INACTIVE).

b) The Registry will send the registrant an email on how they can activate their domain name.

c) Registrants must go to id.MUSIC and complete three steps for domain activation
i. Successfully complete a KYC (Know your Customer) or KYB (Know your Business).
ii. Attest they have a historical, commercial or legal nexus to the domain string they registered with id.MUSIC
iii. Complete a standard music profile
d) After successfully completing all three domain activation steps at id.MUSIC, the domain serverHOLD is lifted and the domain name is activated. From then on, the domain can be used regularly.
